The Sequel to Rebel Heart

It was the first time in four years, Gabrielle Ervy stepped foot in her father's mansion. She looked around and felt nostalgic, remembering the first time she was here five years ago. The familiar feeling of home slowly crept its way to her now closed and cold heart. Her lips formed a weak smile as she sucked in cold air and set her gaze straight. She cleared her thoughts of anything, of someone in particular and walked inside.
She had a reason why she's back and surely it had nothing to do with rekindling relationships. She had a goal and she won't let anything or anyone hinder that. Her poor heart was long buried four years ago and there was no way resurrecting it. Or maybe she hasn't known it yet.

Where The Light Went

62 parts Ongoing Mature

Bree doesn't do love anymore. Not since the accident. Not since the life she built was taken from her in the quiet blink of a moment. Now she keeps things simple. Drinks too much. Sleeps with women who don't ask questions. Keeps her heart buried somewhere between a barstool and the back porch. Then Harper comes back. The girl from summers past. The one who knew her before the world got sharp. Bree tells herself it's nothing. Just a ghost of a friendship. A familiar face passing through. But something's shifting. And the more she tries to ignore it... the more it demands to be seen. Some wounds don't scar over. Some hearts don't stay buried.
