It's been six months since the final events of United as One.

The Academy is open.

The Garde are reuniting.

And the winds of winter are coming.

With the Human Garde now in training and the Earth Garde Peacekeepers looking over the shoulders of Lexa and Number Nine, they must find out who the real enemy is, while simultaneously struggling with Nine's newfound Legacy, a Legacy that he and Ella have to hone together.

Their allies, FBI Agents Walker and Smith, find themselves tangled in a new war when two of the Garde suspiciously disappear after ages of self-exile. Imprisoned and afraid in an unknown location, Number Six and Sam Goode hold on to what little of their bodies, and minds, they have left.

Adamus Sutekh, the traitor turned leader, has finally found peace. Among the Alaskan wilderness, he has built a home for himself and his people. The Trueborn have faced many hardships, many fatalities, many metamorphoses. But they've survived. However, as Winter draws near and old enemies begin to grow bolder, Adam once again needs to protect those he has cared about.

The Garde created this new world.

Now they must protect it.
