The mounds of sand under his feet were dunes; the stones on his sides were mountains; the steam around his head were clouds; the tiny insects flying by his fists were seagulls.

"You can't leave me like this Abbigale! You'll never get rid of me. I'll be there every day, watching you. I know I'll always be on your mind" I jumped out of my sleep. Sweat pelting down on my skin. Hearing that voice in my head. Those words. Why now? I looked at my clocked, 3:24 AM. I got up and walked to the kitchen for a cold glass of water. Boink. I froze facing the fridge. I don't know what that sound was, but it seemed to be coming from the living room. I turned around, and there in the deep corners of my living room I saw a shadow...a shadow... that shaped like ... "Daniel?" I called out. I stepped forward, blinked and the shadow disappeared.

The first time I saw the color, I thought it was a sign that things were going to work out. How could I not see those vibrant purples and cobalt blues framed in a swirling aura of chimerical colors lighting up the rumbling midnight storm clouds as a bad thing? How was I to know then that this color composed of many, but still one, was an omen while the world around us burned? That it wasn't to be our rainbow from God signaling our salvation from the madness that consumed those outside our borders? That the hues I failed to recreate with my crayons and pencils on the floor of my brother's cabin would twist and corrupt everything bathed in its light?

She hated them. They loved her with everything in them. The universe truly has a sick way of telling you it's there, doesn't it? From being kidnapped to being abused, that was all Arabella saw in life. It was all she ever knew. They tell you to keep fighting but sometimes you realize... you were just a child. If you feel this way then why can't you choose me, Dominic. I shake my head from his hands wishing to step back but he pulls me back to him a pain filled groan leaving him. "Just one more minute. Please." His body shook and I brought him closer, feeling our pain become one. Our hurricanes of minds pull away even for the smallest time letting us stand together as one in each other's embrace. He was it for me. But I wasn't his.

On the wet sand beside the seashore, the strong, tall man was laying with a cigarette in his hand. His bike parked a few feet away from him. The environment there was serene and noiseless as no one was allowed then on the beach that he owned. It was not a big deal for a billionaire like him. He had a lot more than that. Wealth, power, the respect he had all of them but lacked the most important thing that couldn't be bought with money. He lacked inner peace. He inhaled the vinous smoke as the corner of his lips twitched in a sad smile. His eyes deceived him being moist and a lone tear slipped down his face on the sand. The sand sucked the water as soon as it fell on it, and he wondered if his pain disappeared in thin air like that. He breathed out a puff of smoke through his nose and mouth. Looking up at the sky with the sad smile plastered on his face he spoke up, "Why so hatred for me, ya Rab?" Miles away from him the girl with a cuddling baby in her arms uttered looking up at the sky, "I express my deep gratitude to You for sending this angel to me, Ya Rab."

Once again I was wrong He walked back and forth in the shadows,the darkness obscuring him to the point of a silhouette. But as he went I noticed his form change and blur, sometimes resembling that of a child before shifting into something much bigger and hairier then morphing back again. "Oh Fin haven't you realized it yet" the voice asked mockingly, "us deities and gods alike have been watching you closely, seeing how you stack up against what this world has to offer" I heard a laugh "and frankly I have to say, I'm not impressed". He let a sliver of his face be shown in the firelight I had been so wrong "Tell me who you are" I ask, although the answer couldn't have been clearer. Once again he laughed, a strange and horrifying mix between that of a child and a beasts. "I really don't see how it matters" he finally says, "you'll die all the same" The campfire went out leaving me in darkness
