BioOptometrx is a well known, world-wide spread research business set on making the most innovative discoveries for the best of humanity. How they achieve such results? That remains a mystery amongst the the world inhabitants. However, BioOptometrx is in need of volunteers for their next research project. They don't want humans. They want Khamira's kind. 
  
  Khamira who was brought up in a series of unfortunate events sees no hope in her future or the development of the world as she tries to live a normal life with her adoptive family. Until a new regulation is set through the federal government. Under the influence of BioOptometrx, the federal government is threatened to agree to their research and its regulations: whoever maintains eye contact with a BioOptometrx employee for two seconds or more will be taken in and tested to assure they are a perfect candidate. 
  
  One slight catch-employees aren't any different from the rest of the population. A lovely morning turns bitter when Khamira finds herself staring into black soulless eyes...for two seconds.All Rights Reserved

Five co-workers and a guide struggle with a creature, a live relic from the past and from another dimensional plane. The creature is simultaneously lizard and birdlike, while also having anthropoidic characteristics. Once upon a time, this alien race made contact with a lost human Civilization in the region. The two races initially made an alliance, but the greed of some of the humans caused a war to erupt. The discovery and cursory inspection of the cave by one of the characters results in an impromptu, amateur tour. During the journey through the cave one of the co-workers, through a combination of stubbornness, curiosity and willfulness, becomes separated. He stumbles upon a cache of interesting artifacts inside of an oddly inhuman room with alien technology. It is in these confines where he unlocks the being whose last memories of human interaction are still freshly stinging its memory. The group grapples through the tenuous caves trying to escape the creature's vengeful wrath. The ensuing mad flight from the cave to relative safety results in a battle for survival.
