"You know, I loved you once. I did. Would've married you if you'd have let me, another man's son in your arms or not," he spoke, hatred clear in his eyes as he looked at her. "Alistair, please,'' Vasilisa began as she moved toward him, only to be silenced by the man throwing a glass vase into the wall in his rage. She looked at the shattered pieces on the floor, shock freezing her where she stood. "I'll kill you for this, and Blackwood can't protect you forever." Alistair spat out the words with so much venom that Vasilisa was nearly shaking. She ran from the room, from the house, and didn't look back.
