The city of Merasa was once a wonderful place - a haven for all, a city united by four tribes, and a place where a select few could talk to and control the spirits of the deceased along with elemental abilities gifted to them by their tribal ancestry. However, Barbarians attacked the city, and following this Great War, the city was without protection from more Barbarian attacks. Four years before this story takes place, a tyrant called Lord Tante took over control of the city and restored it to some of its former glory with the harsh control of his Scoria soldiers.
The people of Merasa, once again united without the threat of Barbarians, knew that while they had some peace, they could never truly be free until the Wraith Masters returned and Lord Tante was removed from control. Vivien, a 17-year-old Merasan teenager, along with her friends and siblings, form The Storm, a resistance group, seeking to find a Wraith Master, and remove Lord Tante from power.
