"Hello? Ryan?" He sounds nervous, but excited. There's an urgent energy to His voice, like Ryan will run away again at any moment. Who knows? He might. "Are you there?" Ryan doesn't know what to say... It's been years. Is he really even there? Is this really even real?
"Yeah," Ryan manages somehow. "I'm here." Initially he pats himself on the back because he's surprised he could even work out an audible sentence, but then he suddenly feels like kicking himself. 'I'm here' is something Ryan would've said to Him as anxiety took over His body back in the days. 'I'm here' was security... and Ryan is the opposite of secure.
"Oh... oh my god. It's really you." His voice almost instantly sounds small and hopeful. Of course He remembers Ryan's voice. Christ, he used to sing the boy to sleep on some nights when things got hard... Of course He remembers. "It's so good to talk to you, Ry." And Ryan's heart swells. No, no, no he didn't want this. He changes his mind. Go back. Reset.
