The Feast Day of San Galileo brings a motley group of revelers to Kota Maynilad. During the fiesta, sheltered mage-in-training Otts meets Ynés, a feisty machinist's apprentice. 

As they while away the day together, they encounter the port city's bustling youth culture: punk rock minstrels; carefree kit-bashers who remix spells into mash-ups; sidewalk herbalists with their mind-expanding home-brewed potions; and "glamplayers" who use cantrips to take on the appearance of their favorite folk heroes.
