a game of cat and mouse. he chased and chased until he could chase no more. and without even knowing it i played along, i had ran until my lungs ached for air and my legs wobbled beneath my weight. somewhere along the way my run had become a jog, and my jog a brisk walk.
I had grown comfortable in this pattern until suddenly he was no more and i was at a stand still.
All that was left were the soft lingering of sweet butterfly kisses that touched my soul.
