Darcy Campbell left her belove hometown of New York to move in with her uncle, his wife and their kids in sunny California. She didn't agree to this move but she had to, since her mom didn't really care about her anyways.

Darcy doesn't care anyways, since she'll only be in California for her senior year and then she'll be on her way to college and she'll move far away from all her troubles.

Easy, right? Don't get attached to people. Treat California like it's just a pit stop. Darcy isn't the type of girl you would see dancing at a party or sitting at the cool kids table. Nope. She would most likely be sitting alone at a table reading and reciting spells from Harry Potter.

Well, she thought it would be easy . But when she meets a couple of people who suggested a Lord of the Rings marathon, she knew it would be difficult not to befriend them. And if she thought that was hard, she started to have feelings for a guy who infuriated her to no limit.

How is she supposed to not get attached to these people?
