When he realized it well being the eldest and the "Padre de Pamilya" due to the annulment of their parents and all of the siblings also him was being left to their mother.When the time comes her mother got sick and he feel guilty of all the hatred he give to her so what can it be? 
He will study harder to graduate or he will feel like it is just nothing and go back to his own self?
He loves his siblings no matter what it can be.
But it is not just it all
Many problems will reach too that we didn't know it much
And still if it is he will do it for the sake of his mother and to his siblings the most.
