Principals of Freedom is set in a pro-dictatorship city where the king of POR (Principals of Restrictions) controls mostly everything, including birth. To escape the city one must get past the bridge that connects them to another city that is against dictatorship and has a government called POF. The walls of the city covered the sky, and there was only artificial light from solar panels. No one has ever bothered in escaping though, as POR agents basically cover every inch of the building the king resides in.
Many people are rude in the city because of their working conditions, and it's not uncommon for homeless people to blend in with the rest, and Flynn was among those. No matter how many times you tell him that he would see the sun one day, he'd just laugh at you each time.
"Oh if only you knew, the friends you'll make and those you'll forsake! You'll see the sun one day I know it!"
Still... He'd just laugh at you.
