Every year 5 girls that are the age of 18 are sent to the alpha to be killed. They are sent because the humans believe that a 18 year old girl will be able to defeat him and to keep peace between werewolves and humans and to keep werewolves from kidnapping humans and killing them. Layla is 18 and finds the note saying she's being sent to the alpha. Once she is sent there she learns the dark secrets of her past and of the alpha.
