Confused and jaded since graduate school, Esa is willing to go to extremes to find her true purpose. She attends a weeklong art festival in the desert where she meets a middle-aged shaman who tells her he can help her, but first she must do everything he says. When she agrees, he sends her off on a "Vision Quest" in Black Rock City. But the city isn't as friendly as she imagined. At her first stop, an angry gypsy magician curses her with blindness. The only way to undo the spell is to drink a special tea out in the deep dark desert before sunrise. But when the tea gets stolen, Esa loses her only protector and must face her biggest fear: journeying out in the darkness alone. Esa must fight off her inner demons and the physical brutality of the desert's conditions, to regain her vision. But above all, she must establish her faith in the cosmos and its plan for her life on Earth.

In Kara's village at the age if fifteen your wings are freed from the chains that have bound them. Once you can fly you must cross the White Desert, a land covered almost entirely in ice and snow, and the inhabitants are not all friendly. Gods and goddesses of myth live with in the constraints if the dimension beside creatures of flight and fancy; beside them hide those of dreams, be they day dreams or the darkest nightmare. Kara and her freinds now must find out how to survive in a land where little is what it seems and a villain can be made of a hero or a hero made of a villian. Atop all this sits Fate, pulling strings to make her puppets jump and keep things intresting, because she has always loved a good show. Until the show started to change, when one little girl in particular wants things to change, because if leaving means Death, well Fate has another thing coming, a new Queen is coming. This story is going to be for the most part unedited. I'm going to try to start editing soon. Some violence.
