"There's a price for everything. You, out of all, should know this the best." He eventually responds. The cobbled stone cuts into the skin of his palm as he leans his hands on his hands, reclining back. The space created between the two of them is an illusion of security. He's already at a disadvantage. The tally seems far from weighing in his favour.
"And you are willing to pay it."
She's right. He was a dead man the moment he came a second time. He finds himself hating her even more.
