Collin has departed the closest place he has to a home, on the hunt for a creature before whom even the angels tremble, and of course, it's not as easy as asking him to dance. In his desperation, he finds himself swept up in a tournament with more than his life on the line. Meanwhile, those he has left behind face their own dangers. Still mourning their losses they are targeted by the Remnants of the Proving Grounds and must defend themselves, even as they are taken apart from the inside.
