"What's that on your wrist?" Is the question that gets the story going. It speaks about a young girl and her life story. How she survived, what she went through, why it happened, when it happened, who was included in this tragedy. It is a book for young teens and young adults. She (kaela) is telling the story from her point of view. I really hope you enjoy it!:)

I've been very depressed and heartbroken so, what better than to create a story out of it? "This is my life" details a protagonist going through her teenage years up until the age of 21. Through love, friendship, grief, and heartbreak, you will get to witness what it's like being a young black girl trying to conquer the world. I hope anyone going through either heartbreak, grief, insecurities, mental health declines are able to read this and know that they're not alone! Life can be so ugly at times, but I promise things always get better. Not your typical romance or teen fiction book! I don't like the way he told me he needed to care for me. I felt like an obligation, a responsibility that he is carrying and carrying leads to getting tired and when people gets tired, they give up. I don't want them to give up on me. But they will, so it's good not to make them care for me in the first place. "I never needed anyone. I stopped needing anyone before, why start now?" I uttered the words again. Why? There is nothing to fight for. No mama. No papa. No sister to love me. No one. So why would I waste my life and the time of others to fix what is already broken - and someone who doesn't want to be fixed? If I may add. Maybe I gave up. No, scratch that. I wrote this when I was 15. I like to say that I'm a better writer now. Although this is where is started. This is what lit this passion inside me for writing. It's about a young influencer that falls for someone who she's not sure she deserves. She struggles with her thoughts. This is my story, or rather a compilation of stories that spans more than a decade. Each piece is written from a place of truth with the exception of the names mentioned. The book itself will broken into sections, with each representing a different moment of my life that was instrumental in helping me define what love is and what it is not.
