Meet Nicole Eve Ortega, a seventeen year old girl trying to make the best of her miserable life. As a child Nicole never had to worry about what life brought for her and her family, but as she got older she began to understand the obstacles and hardships thrown their way. Once Nicole had moved to Canada when she was fifteen, everything in her life completely changed. Moving from her big house in L.A. to a small apartment in Pickering had already been a huge change for her, but that wasn't the only thing. After the move, her father had grown ill and suddenly passed, leaving only her two brothers, mother, and herself. Nicole thought it couldn't get worse, but when she wakes up one morning to see her mother on the bathroom floor, her world came crashing down.

Nicole had thought her life was over, but when she meets the world famous teenager, Shawn Mendes, her life takes a turn for what may be the best. Once they get to know each other tension rises, feelings develop, and something awakens in Nicole, something she thought was far gone as her parents were. Everyone knows Nicole for her past mistakes and bad reputation, but they don't know the real Nicole Ortega.
