Each 200 years, the Grimm Reaper, death's loyal assistant comes out to earth to seek a bride as innocent and beautiful as a flower. If she does not meet his satisfaction, he kills her. Today is his 800th birthday, and the time to pick once again a bride.

Avery Turner has just turned eighteen years old.
More then delighted by the freedom she gets being considered a young adult, she decides to go to her first party alone.
