In a dystopian world fueled with a mechanic obsession, the modern day we once knew is no longer. The continents are split up and lead by self-proclaimed dictators and each is an enemy of the other. The era that lead up to the fall of mankind became engulfed in technology, soon falling under a robotic overloard that was rumored to have mysteriously shut down. With the world driven apart, people run free to do what they want and the ever-present threat of a robotic uprising looms overhead.
This is the story of Rose, a teenage girl living in the age of steampunk. Her life is as quirky as it comes. Machinery and contraptions bustle throughout the land and creativity flourishes.
On an outing with her sister, Rose falls victim to a terrible incident that rids her of speaking. She gets carried away by a mysterious man that claims to have turned her into a cyborg. He warns her nothing will ever be the same and that she cannot return to her previous life.
During talk of an uprising, Rose's mother falls ill to a new and deadly type of virus, with her only chance of getting medical help being in the farthest and most infamous place. Rose takes the risk of being caught and travels during radical riots and through the most ominous of places just to reach the Capitol where she may find much more than she bargained for.

When I don't sit, she says, "If you want to know what's going on, then sit." I think about it for a moment. She hasn't hurt me yet, and I have to admit, I am quite curious as to what's going on. I have sat often in front of the computer, and stared long at the screen without ever writing a word. The synopsis for this project has haunted me since the first person asked me "So, what is it about?", and to this day I have never been able to deliver a straight answer. This book is about a number of things, many of which do not fit evenly into a succinct description. I have tried to make them fit and have found the resulting descriptions ill-representing and dull. Thus, I have decided to go without a description. This book will fade into obscurity no matter what I put here, so I might as well write what's really important. Winter in a city is an especially punishing time. This book comes out of my late nights and early mornings riding the train, and my looking at the window and being able to make out nothing but the blur of the glass. From the outside it may look dead, but certain people know that the inner workings of a city are a true marvel to behold. In writing this, I have tried to capture that marvel and deliver it to you, the reader. This is a book about a city and the people within it. The rest is up for you to read, if you so choose.
