Spencer is just a girl who lives in a small town with her mom, dad and sister, Malissa. She has three really good friends names aria, Hanna, and Emily. She gets really good grades.

When they were in junior year, Spencer's friend and the other friends friend, got murdered by an unknown person. Five months later had passed and hanna, Spencer, aria and Emily haven't talked to be friends. Hanna made friends with a girl named Mona. Aria and Emily talk but not so close and Spencer, she become student body president for school and is the smartest girl. A couple days later, all the girls got this text message for "A" and it never stoped for the rest of junior year. They got all together and worked out who killed Allison and who are texting them those scary messages but they never really figured it out. It was the beginning of senior year and the girls never forgot about Allison but they knew she was dead and they can't do anything about that but one day, she returns and everything is the same except they still get all the texts from "A"and even Allison starts to get them too.

Spencer was on her laptop one day and got a email from Toby Cavanaugh, the guy who Allison thought was watching them but he wasn't.

She excepted the email and she sent him emails and sent him picture of her and he sent picture of him and one day he asked her out and she said yes and they met for the first time at a coffee shop. They fell in love in an instant but will that change when he finds out about the "A" person? Or will he help Spencer get through it and still love her as much as he did the day they met?
