All of his life Sirius Amory had dreamed of grand adventures among the stars. As an adult he dedicated a his studies to a mysterious energy at the edge of the solar system called the Keywork. Finally he receives funding for an expedition to explore the Keywork, being given a ship named the Meriwell and a state of the art AI named All Mother. Sirius is forced to leave his beloved wife. Meri at home, sending him to a deep feeling of isolation as the only human crew member of the Meriwell. But the Keywork is more powerful than he could ever imagine, holding the secrets of life and death. Sirius must confront his own demons to survive.
