This short story is about the Republic of Nova, and twenty children raised by the Lab - a group of scientists whose only goal is "bettering the life in the Republic," with no regard to the children they practice their gene-splicing experiments on. This story includes trolls, from a popular webcomic called Homestuck, but you don't have to have any prior experience with the webcomic to understand my story. Everything you do need to know will be explained in my story.
This story follows twenty children, the humans being characterized by the numbers 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, and 10, while the trolls are characterized by the Greek alphabet, Alpha, Beta, Gamma, Delta, Epsilon, Zeta, Eta, Theta, Iota, and Kappa as they do their best to gain back the Republic that has been gone for 23 years, and banish the new law that says one third of the children living there are to be given to the Lab for their own sick thrills. Will they succeed, or will their plan crumble and fall apart in front of their eyes?

Further, the story needed to be altered slightly as well, as it's a story of the near future, where when it was written, had no thoughts of Covid-19. I falter in my steps a bit, something in my mind telling me to go another way, to ask someone else for help with directions. But I keep walking closer. Something else within me tells me it will be okay. As I get closer, the two men who were facing my direction look towards me and I stop, keeping a safe distance. Hopefully they are able to help me, and not turn me away just because I'm a human. "Hi, um, could you tell me where the front desk is?" The man whose back was facing towards me stiffened. "I think I'm a little..." The man turned toward me so quickly it made my heartbeat waver. His deep blue eyes pierced into my brown ones and called out to me. His jawline was chiseled to perfection, lips parted slightly in awe. Every feature of his face was meticulously handcrafted by God. I never thought I could find a wolf so elegant. He was...beautiful. Something in the air shifted. I could feel it in my bones. "...lost," I finished my sentence after a brief pause. No one answered me. Did I say something wrong? I look between the three of them and see that the two men behind the man who was staring so intently at me were looking between me and him. "Mate."
