Modern life is not how it sounds. Calla lives spoiled, her own jet packet and a mother to kick around. The city she lives in is bright and beautiful, the bright metal of tall buldings reflecting the sun light. Streets are covered in people, walking from one building to another. With one trip to her Grandpapa'a house, her fate is changes. Life can be taken in a matter of seconds. Most of the population is dead though now, driven insane by the gas. Driven insane by the need to kill.

I have sat often in front of the computer, and stared long at the screen without ever writing a word. The synopsis for this project has haunted me since the first person asked me "So, what is it about?", and to this day I have never been able to deliver a straight answer. This book is about a number of things, many of which do not fit evenly into a succinct description. I have tried to make them fit and have found the resulting descriptions ill-representing and dull. Thus, I have decided to go without a description. This book will fade into obscurity no matter what I put here, so I might as well write what's really important. Winter in a city is an especially punishing time. This book comes out of my late nights and early mornings riding the train, and my looking at the window and being able to make out nothing but the blur of the glass. From the outside it may look dead, but certain people know that the inner workings of a city are a true marvel to behold. In writing this, I have tried to capture that marvel and deliver it to you, the reader. This is a book about a city and the people within it. The rest is up for you to read, if you so choose. The last cover was AI generated, so I spent some time making a crude cover of my own. Dotted around these are blue pyramids made of something that burns the eye, shops, warehouses, halls, walls and things that twist the brain and bewitch the eye, towers summited with beacons of frozen light, every building seems an architectural impossibility built from this bronze matter. A stone path of painted gold snakes its way around impassable stalactites tipped with silver snow and slowly makes its way across the forest on its path to the city. I stand a figure on the edge of this, less than an ant against the background of an Olympus." Victor is stranded in a world gone mad. Now edited and completed! She's a 16 year old girl who has under gone much heartache due to the dystopian setting. She has made a promise to her older brother, Drew, while he was on his death bed, to protect their younger siblings- a promise she hopes she doesn't break. She is very tough, but fear is a constant no matter who you are. In the story, fear is ruling her; the fear that she's failing Drew. If she, her family, and her neighbors were not in this setting, she'd be perfectly happy. But she can't be happy now, not with everything that's going on.Complete
