"I don't do bad things for bad reasons.
"I don't do bad things for good reasons.
"I do bad things because there are bad things to be done."

The universe requires balance in all aspects of life and death. Good and evil must war constantly, neither side able to gain traction over the other. For every life given, one must be taken away. In that way, neutrality reigns, and the Earth spins round and round without fear of its revolutions coming to an abrupt halt.

Lucky knows this, has been aware of it since the dawn of time. This need for balance thrums through their bones, resonates with their heart - or the facsimile of one they carry around in an otherwise vacant chest. But Lucky also knows just what it costs the mortal world to maintain this balance - and they know that not everyone agrees it's worth the pain.

There's a war on the horizon - a battle that may tear the very world they've sworn to protect into bloody ribbons, leaving nothing behind but ravaged cities and burning corpses. Lucky doesn't want this fight, doesn't want this hell, but just as surely as they can feel it coming, they can feel the walls closing around them, narrowing down their choices until the only path left to take is one of chaos and Armageddon.
