Three realms.
The first, the realm of mortals. 
The second, the realm of immortals.
The third, the central realm, connecting the two. 

Some from either realm, mortal and immortal, can connect to the central realm and have the ability to see others from the other realm through the central realm's blur. Those who can connect to the central realm receive strange abilities tied to the opposing realm, such as a fusion that can be seen by others from the three realms.

Many stories can be told from the experiences of those who have connected to the central blur. 

From an ordinary lady who befriends an angel, fuses to become a superhero. To a mermaid who falls in love with a scuba diver. Even vampires faced with obstacles of falling in love with humans that most others cannot see.
