A wave pain hit Keely full-force. Her head throbbed and her stomach clenched. She regretted getting out of class multiple times before because she "felt sick." The teacher wouldn't believe her this time.
Keely quickly filled out a hall pass and hobbled up to her homeroom teacher's desk. He gave Keely a skeptical look.
"Is it really an emergency?" he demanded.
"Yes, sir." She shifted from foot to foot like she desperately needed to pee. Instead, she felt like spewing her lunch all over the front of Mr. Carston's shirt.
Mr. Carston muttered something under his breath as he grudgingly signed the hall pass. Keely snatched it away before Mr. Carston could do a fancy swirl at the end of his initials and stumbled to the nearest bathroom.
Relieved to see the room empty, Keely locked herself in a stall. The toilet swirled past and she fell, catching herself before she got a faceful of poop-water. She hovered there, hating the choking acidic feeling slowly rising in the back of her throat.
