❝ "I want to break up." He spoke to me as the words were venomous to him, his gaze not meeting mine.

"What? I don't understand." I muttered out, trying to get him to lock eyes with me.

He gave a rather annoyed sigh, "I don't want to date you."

"You said you loved me." I answered in which was barely a whisper, making myself seem weak. Which I was. With him, in this moment, that is.

He stopped looking around to look me straight in the eyes. His eyes were cold, dead in such a living person. "I lied, Shiloh. I'm the player of this town, did you really think I'd fall for you? You were just a bet for us." ❞
