Shayley hid the biggest secret of her life from her best friend- she was diagnosed with a deadly disease, and won't live past age sixteen. When Blake gets a call one night to go to the hospital, he gets there just in time to hear her last words. She tells him that she left a box beneath her bed, with unsent letters, pictures, and songs, and if he reads them, he'll find out the one other secret she couldn't say while he was alive.
He has one summer to find out what she couldn't tell him.
