September's job is to rescue dogs who have been abused and abandoned by their owners. Ever since she got her first puppy, she always got a soft side for them because she knows how it feels to be pained and left behind by someone you loved . When she found a lost golden retriever, she never expected to also find love in his owner. She keeps her walls up because she doesn't want to get hurt again but he is determined to climb her walls since breaking them down seems impossible.

Trouble soon arises when her sister and his best friend gets mixed in a complicated love rectangle. She has to navigate through this maze unscathed but that's not possible. The only way to solve this dilemma is for them to put their hearts on a leash before they crash and burn.
