Luka has always dreamed of the ocean.
To live free and far from misery in which she grew up is an obsession. No matter being a woman, her determination is limitless and she intends to sail.
When the captain of the Endeavour gets her in his crew despite propriety, Luka seems to be within reach of her dream.
However, once the euphoria from the departure is gone, life onboard turns out ruthless. Under the orders of the flinty and mysterious cook Axel, Luka tries to find her place despite sexism and the legendary superstition of the sailors while the real reasons for her presence on the ship are still out of her hands.
Determined to crack the secret of their journey, the ship's girl quickly discovers that on the Endeavour, things are not what they seem to be.
