S.H.I.E.L.D. agent Jaden: codename: A.J. (Agent J). She knows nothing of her heritage. Doesn't even know her real name. All anybody knows her by is one of her few pre-approved nicknames. No one dared call her anything else with her closest friend, S.H.I.E.L.D. agent Phil Coulson, as the exception.

She grew up in an orphanage for as long as she could remember. But no one ever adopted her. It wasn't because she had abilities that were considered unnatural. Nor was it anything about J herself.

Once she'd turned sixteen, she left the facility and chose to live on the streets.
