Enemies invaded my kingdom, forcing me to go into hiding until it's safe to reign Everton again. Till then I just put the crown down and wear sweats and hoodies like any normal teenager.

I am Victoria Claire Evan, princess of a small island in the north, called Everton, sent far away from her home to a small town in America. My dad, King Of Everdon handed James Lockwood the responsibilty to keep his daughter, the heiress of Everdon safe until further notice.

Her usual bubbly and easy-going personality disappears due to the near-death experience causing life to feel meaningless. To make matters worse her best friend gets with her boyfriend and all her friends have changed in more ways worse than good. Even her family feels different. All seems lost until new student Kai Brent comes into the picture. At first, he feels like nothing but a pain in her ass but somehow he ends up showing her that there are still things worth living for. He even has an interesting offer of defense classes in exchange for Summer to be his fake girlfriend let's see how that goes... Primrose was raised to be a perfect little girl her whole life, at a young age she was raised to perfection, kitten heels, dresses and manners of a lady. She met a boy named Xavier in preschool, a skinny little boy with glasses, she grew fond of the funny little boy and they became good friends despite his family being short of money. When Primrose was 8 and Xavier was 9 years old Xavier's Fathers business hit the jackpot and went sky high making them one of the richest families in the country. He moved away leaving primrose in her perfectly controlled life. Years passed, Xavier changed in every way possible, he got contact lenses and his hair grew darker with age and he was toned and covered in tattoos. He was unrecognisable. Primrose however hadn't changed one bit, she had light blonde hair with soft curls and bright green eyes. She still wore perfect prim dresses and kitten heels and held herself like a lady and was kind to everyone even the worst of people. When Xavier returned to his home town at 19 he recognised primrose who is now 18. However she didn't recognise him. (TW: I have made this story mature for very small reasons such as how her father treats her and her mother and it may be upsetting to some so please be mindful of this when reading the story. There is also bullying and controlling behaviour mentioned. Otherwise it's pretty PG within the book)

Which makes you think about how unrealistic love like that is. I used to think the same thing until I met him. Until I met 'the bad boy' that, as it turns out, wasn't that bad at all, just simply...a boy. A boy with an easy smile, a charming personality and looks so enticing that I couldn't keep my eyes off of him if I tried. A boy whose shoulders were starting to slump with the weight of his past and his family.
