Temper was always different, but not for all the normal reasons. For one thing, she had fiery red hair. That wasn't the only reason though- she also had a strange power, the power to control fire. She could create it, move it, and was immune to it. She could even absorb it. But her life wasn't all peaches and cream. When she was young, she was taken from her family because of her power. They probably thought she was dead and she didn't know if they were alive either. She escaped five years ago when she was twelve, but hadn't gone back to her family for fear of their safety. Now she was seventeen, living in the streets. Her life was bleak, that is until she met Nick. All she knew was that he was after her, but she had no idea why. Her life was about to get a whole lot more interesting.

(Told from both Temper's and Nick's point of views)

He asked and I looked up at his eyes. I didn't have to ponder over the matter long. "I don't know." I said softly. Daimen frowned and studied me for a while, "Just wondering, because you seem to love pissing me off. And most people don't. So I guess you need some figuring out to do." ********* Daimen and River were both seniors at the same high school, they took some of the same classes, walked the same halls, live in fair distance from each other, but they couldn't have been more different. When high school was over River and Daimen became ghosts to each other but then years later fate decides to bring them back together. River Sparrow hates confrontation. She's jumpy, but tries to see the bright side of situations. She's quiet, soft spoken, the "teacher's pet," and keeps to herself a lot. She's a volunteer at the local animal shelter and loves one dog in particular the most. Daimen Princeston would fight in a heartbeat. He's strong, intimidating, and pretty much has people running for the hills at the very aspect of him getting angry. His devil-may-care attitude swirls around him and no one wants to get on his bad side. Of course River is afraid of him, and she has a good right to be. But when River starts to learn more of the young man everyone fears she starts to see him in a new way. After some time feelings grow stronger and she hopes she's not fallen for a murderer. And if she has, who is she to deny him the love he so desperately needs?

WARNING: CONTAINING AMOUNTS OF SASS PREVIOUSLY UNKNOWN TO MANKIND In the city of NYC--- Ok. Hold up. First of all, New York City. What, are ya gonna assume everyone here knows what NYC is? Anyway, this is about two people. I can almost hear you rolling your eyes. Another cliché teen fiction with a bad boy and a good girl? Nope. This is about superheroes. I can still hear you rolling your eyes. Superheroes. Like in comic books? Like people with super speed and mutant powers? Yes. But this isn't about the fight they have. More about the lives they lead without the masks. But just keep in mind, people who live in the world have all different skin colours. Do not assume my characters are of one unless I state them explicitly. and diversity is welcome here in my novel! Anyhow, back to the story. Ever wonder where supervillains go after their fight with the hero? What about the other side of the story? It's not like they sit in their lair cackling all day and planning how to kidnap reporters. What about the lives they lead? And instead of just focusing on that, what if the superhero and the supervillain knew each other? I mean, can they see behind the mask? No, so their identities are secret. So what if the hero and villain were best friends? What if they were roommates? What if they were falling for each other? And what happens when they find out? Now, I assume you know all of these questions will be answered in this book. But hold on. It's going to take a while. You're in for a bumpy ride. And if any of you got any of the references in this description, give yourself a pat on the back. That is a beautiful thing. And if you can name all the references in this book, you truly are a gift to mankind. Fangirl out.

"If you turn your back to me again, you better be bending over, sweetheart." *** Everyone warns you about boys who go looking for troubles, who have bruised knuckles and split lips, whose eyes are so dark that it seems like they could swallow oceans and come out alive, about the boys who look like danger, but no one warns about boys who stay silent for way too long, or ones with rings under their eyes, boys with sad eyes and boys who whisper things so sweet, so quietly that you wonder if he was an angel. Everyone warns you about the bad boys, but no one seems to warn you about the broken ones. Bar Red was a broken boy who finally finds someone to help mend his scattered pieces. Everyone saw him as the untrustworthy, unstable beast who was more than willing to punch anyone's face in. Swear words and bad habits mixed with smirks and wicked grins are enough to ward anyone off. But, apparently for Clementine, that's exactly what pulls her in. She has no clue what she's getting into but she's about to find out. She wasn't innocent, not by far, but she had dignity, a warm aura, niceness, and stubbornness that could rival a mule. Mix that with Bar's possessiveness and overprotective behavior, some interesting situations will definitely arise. Adding in the fact that Clementine had to tutor Bar for the rest of the school year and his almost instinctual urge to be apart of her life, they are bound to get close. Bar swears, Clementine hates it. He fights, she glares while bandaging up his knuckles. She reads instead of eats and he refuses dinner until she joins him. He is rude and she ignores him until he apologizes. Both, easily, frustrate the other while simultaneously falling into love. Broken boys are the only ones that can fix themselves so will this broken boy manage to do so before he drives away the one girl who wiggled her way past every barrier? This is the story of a broken bad boy clashing with the sad good girl. * #1 in the Red series Stand alone

I could hear her footsteps running behind me; so I intentionally made long steps. When I stopped and turned around she bumped into my chest and about to fall. Suddenly I urged myself to breakdown her fall. But she closed her eyes and got ready to take the fall; she looked like a baby in fear, it's kind of cute.I grabbed her with my arms around her slimy waist and her little hand too. She fits right into my arms. My heart skipped a bit when she opened her eyes and looked at me. Her eyes went wide when it captured mine. Her eyes sure have some magnetic power. I can't take my eyes away from her. We both are too close; that I could feel her breath. When reality hits I slowly made her stand on her own and moved back. I threw the book at her. She looked at me with confusion. I showed my anger at her for acting like an innocent person. I know the reason for my anger is that she disappointed me when I thought that she was different. But to my surprise the one who left the book at car was Hanna. I can't make myself to say sorry to some idiotic random girl. So just walked back when I suddenly heard someone calling me by my name. "Nicholas" she yelled. I turned around to see the same small girl standing there. How dare she call me by my name? She gave me a grin with her hand folded to her chest. She tries to act like tough girl but it's too cute to watch. So I just stood there. But she went out off limits and questioned me if I like her? Me? Like? Her? No way ! Here comes our protagonist Candice called Candy - Chatter box but cute and friendly to everyone. No one could hate her except Nick. Nicholas called Nick- Handsome but arrogant, college senior who thinks the earth revolve around him. How do these two opposite poles have them attracted????
