Becky Weavers is found dead out on Lover's Lane after a heated exchange between her and Stella over a man they are both interested in. Stella and Becky have a long history of messing with other women's men and on more than a few occasions Stella has threatened to have Becky "eliminated." Stella swears she didn't do it and even has an alibi for her whereabouts, but she is still being considered the prime suspect. If what Stella says is true, then obviously, Stella is not the only person in town who wanted Becky dead for one reason or another. And if other people wanted Becky dead, who were they and why? As the news of her untimely death reached Becky's family, not everyone seemed saddened by the news. Her half-sister Donnica, for instance, seemed very relaxed, and somewhat un-disturbed by the news of her sisters mysterious death...which was very interesting considering how close the two sisters seemed to be in life. Donnica, a strikingly beautiful woman, was the product of Becky's dad's 2nd marriage to her stepmom, Monica, who he met and fell in love with shortly after Becky's mother, Janice, succumbed to the injuries she sustained in a head-on car collision when Becky was only three. Or at least, that was how the story was told. Monica DeLouise hailed from New Orleans and was known for dabbling in hoo-doo and the black arts. When Becky was found dead there were no visible marks on her body and no signs of a struggle. A clump of her hair was missing, which appeared to have been torn clean from her head, and a bloody chicken bone was found lying across her chest. Naturally, these signs started the town people's tongues wagging. Folks who attended church regularly on Sundays and called themselves Christians who you would have thought knew better still started whispering that Monica had something to do with Becky's death. Because even though Donnica and Becky grew up together as sisters, blood still ran deeper than water.

ꫂ❁ This is the story of six orphans - a woman and five men who have lived together like a family for a long time. Though not related by blood, yet they share that strong bond with each other. Then, one day, it happens. The woman dies, shattering the peace and harmony of their house. Not long after, they come across a mysterious yet intriguing stranger who may want to help them. But, are they really trustworthy? Only time will tell. ⚬─────────✧─────────⚬ Excerpt from the book : She didn't mount on the bike. Instead, she stood there holding the helmet. "My mother had warned me about strangers." I looked at her in confusion. "Okay, so?" "So what's your name?" She asked as if a stranger won't be able to say a fake name at all. Smart little kid. "Levi." She nodded. "Levi, hmm." "Now, can we get going, stranger kid?" "Okay," she said and got on my bike. It seemed like she didn't hear what I had called her. I started the bike and rode off. "Wait, did you call me a kid again?" I chuckled. "Took you long enough." ၄၃
