"Most parents don't move their daughter to the town with the country's highest percentage of rapists, murders and other criminals. Most parents definitely don't do it with the kind of excitement displayed on my mother's face. However, considering my father is a convicted murderer. I don't know why any of this still surprises me anymore." Jane Finch's father has been paroled, and she is moving to Halfway. A town populated entirely by parolees. Little does she know that she end up feeling safer there than anywhere else on the planet.
