Kaitlynn Stevens had a hard time making friends, but she was content. She had a small group of people she talked to when it was necessary, but none of them actually knew her. The arrival of two new students changes her loner status forever. Lucas and Michael Morris, only a year apart in age have always been best friends, then brothers. Each of them are drawn to quiet, reserved Kaitlynn for their own reasons. A friendship builds that affects them all differently.

Kaitlynn finds herself falling for the mysterious Lucas. Michael is always around to pick up the pieces when Luke hurts her, leaving unresolved conflict when the brothers are forced to move away. Five years later each of them has their own story. They have their own lives, separate from the others. Kaitlynn, now a 22 year old grad student gets a call out of the blue, from one of the Morris brothers. The three are reunited and a sudden confession reveals feelings that have been locked away for years.
