Magic is gone. Well...not exactly. After a mishap that happened years ago, magic was banned. If you get caught using magic then you're sent straight to jail, for God knows how long.
Tess gets caught up with the media, the police and the illegal magic, just because she's looking for some fun.
But none of it would have happened if she didn't see Jackson..who was compelling her to keep coming.
