Coworkers

Set in 2015 in an urban area in Alexandria, Virginia:

Audrey Bradshaw is a woman stuck at an office job, usually shuffling papers or sending emails that she never gets a reply to, only because her boss says it's "important". Her goal of becoming an actress went south when family issues tied her down; she couldn't just leave her family in Virginia while she pursued a career. And, to add insult to injury, she was recently mugged and was left with barely enough to settle down into a low class apartment.

Abraham Robinson isn't fairing much better than Audrey. After getting rejected from the navy, he doesn't have a choice but to work his way up the hierarchical system of the workforce. As disappointed and pissed as he is, he should've seen it coming, he tells himself. Refusing to be a fry cook at a shitty, good-for-nothing fast food joint, he finds a position in a mediocre office job that he's only taking for the $12 an hour. He's also in an apartment, but it's a shittier one than he'd like it to be.

After a rough day of work, the two end up at the same cafe, and things go from there.
