They'd built a garden together. A beautiful garden, with exotic flowers and familiar ones, with trees of ripened fruit that reminded the world of home. It was strong and it was delicate, short lived and everlasting, privately guarded yet on display for the whole world to admire and condemn as it saw fit. 

And Mitch had stomped all over it.
