This is the first in my most popular series. It was written originally for a friend for her bday (because I was too poor to buy her something)
My writing has evolved a lot since then, my style has become more prominent and I think I am a much better writer now. But I will not change this story. I will not rewrite it. 
I think it is important to remember how far you have come. Plus, it can show others struggling with their own writing that, with practice, you will get better.

This is a short story.   She's the pirate queen feared across the seas. He's the silent shadow who kills for her without question.  When battle leaves them bleeding, it's not vengeance they find in the quiet after-it's something far more dangerous: love.   Told in alternating points of view, the story unfolds through both their eyes-each moment felt, each silence shared, each scar carried by them both. Because sometimes, the truth isn't in what one says-but in what the other sees.
