Worth. The quality that renders something desirable, useful or valuable. What does it mean when placed over a human's head? How does one single person determine the worthiness of another? That one single, insufficient person is incomprehensible of their own worthiness. They require other's assistance in that. Using another's action, the said person could slowly, but surely determine how much they would weigh in worth.

That is, at least, how high schooler Edward Mccullen sees it. He's single, dorky, and totally not crushing on his best friend.

He has learn to not only hate his life, but to want finish it off as fast as possible. Close to finally graduating high school his English teacher, Mr Steve, assigns the class a special progect. "To be able to see life through different eyes, and write about it." For this, Mr Steve gets his class to assist a hospital 3 times a week, and assigns each student, with a patient. This is the moment where this boy meets Royal, a cancer sick 17 year old girl, that has lived in a hospital her hole life, but still finds beauty and meaning in it. Through out the report the boy gets more and more involved in Royal's life, spending unfortunately moments together. But through out the journey he asks himself more and more. "Why do bad things happen to good people?" Metanote: Suicide, suicidal thoughts, and the lack of consideration for suicide (usually by people joking about it) has been detrimental in my life, and it's taken away a lot of the spirit in me. This story is not meant to glorify suicide, but rather, to show the constant pain that it can leave people with. I am not saying that those who committed suicide are somehow "evil," but I am saying that there are real-world consequences for those who are left behind. Once you see Charles's story, you will understand what I mean.
