It’s the first day of school in a new town for Jack O’Rourke and she’s a bit nervous. Jack’s never been the new kid before and she’s not exactly sure how she’s supposed to act. Thankfully, Jack’s inner confidence and “never-failing” moral compass leads her to make friends –and ENEMIES – all on the first day!
Now with a trio of mean girls gunning for her, and a creepy, black sedan watching her house, well it’s a bit much for a fourteen-year old to take! But Jack does her best to get back to a normal life by throwing herself into her new friends, the girls’ soccer team and planning the art show fundraiser that she, somehow, came to be in charge of.
But when the money raised from the fundraiser ends up missing and is later found in Jack’s locker – what’s a girl to do? Jack is seriously thinking about throwing in the towel and moving to Timbuktu, but she quickly remembers who she is and makes a plan to do what Jack O’Rourke does best: she FIGHTS BACK! When Jack’s done with those mean girls everyone at Reading Junior High will definitely know what kind of girl Jack really is!
