What Are The Chances?

The dark alleys of New York City is all that Destiny Cain has ever seen. She's lived with sleepless nights, dreadful hunger, and a strong desire for hope that just couldn't be found. No home. No nothing. Her parents were the reason she was still alive, they did everything they could for her. Then, she didn't have them anymore.
She's now nineteen; winter is slowly covering New York, and she has nowhere to go, until the owner of the local library let's her stay there. This is when Destiny knows for sure that she has something to hope for. She's helping out in the library, making friends, and finally seeing parts of the city that's never been visible to her. Maybe now, everything is fine.
Two months later, an event comes up that leaves Destiny living on the streets once again. She's devastated, and doesn't tell her two friends what's been going on; she's determined to figure everything out on her own, but is that how things are meant to be?
