Sometimes, you have to break open before you can shine.
Vampire Lane Meyer usually only cares about two things; his girlfriend and his band, Night Creatures. When Della dumps him, Lane's a wreck. When she starts dating Jazz Era vamp Jack Steele the same night, Meyer's old guitar teacher becomes his rival.
That same night, the Gatto Gang makes Meyer an offer he can't refuse. The band's in debt to the shifter Mafia, so now Night Creatures has to win the Newport Battle of the Bands, or else. But they're up against the Jack Steele Band, the winners for the last ten years.
When people turn up at the hospital for blood loss, detectives investigate both bands. Can Meyer stay focused through Jack and Della's public displays of affection, Newport's Finest watching him, and shifter goons in the front row?

A retelling of the Hades and Persephone myth, a story of fate, the struggle for power, and love found in the most unexpected places. ***** Persephone has been raised in Olympus all her life - her mother absent, her father a cruel king, with her siblings teaching her all they know. She has seen all of what the gods and goddesses do and she is sick of it. When she learns her safety is threatened by staying in Olympus, she flees to the Underworld. There she stays until she learns that her leaving has caused the world to wilt. But leaving behind her newfound friends and Lady of the Underworld is something she will not do willingly, no matter the consequences.
