Worry filled my mind as people ran for the stairs and lifts. This had never happened before and no one was prepared. Before I could turn around to see if there was a fire I felt a blast of heat, sending a bead of sweat down my back. 
Hello my lovely's, I know it has been a while but I have been planning to write this for a while and decided to do it now. This was originally written for a homework assignment,but a lot of my friends encouraged me to do something more with it. It is a story was written in memory of the Triangle Waist company factory fire of 1911, its the point of view of my OG character but the name is a real name of a worker in the fire.

He woke up in an unfamiliar place, all he remembered from the day before as he was about to fall asleep was that he was reading a book "The Birth of a Hero". Cale thought while looking towards the ceiling. «It's not like I miss my old life.» There really wasn't much. In addition to being an orphan and penniless, he also developed anemia during his teenage years due to poor nutrition. --- Cale thought about his so-called plans while slowly closing his eyes in satisfaction. The Indestructible Shield. Cale thought of this first formless force that he was going to acquire. As he was organizing his plans, he suddenly opened his eyes and a severe headache overwhelmed him. "Is she breathing?" a male voice asked. It didn't sound familiar at all, so it was probably a police officer or medic. Then again, nothing sounded familiar right now. I could hear screaming and crying all around me. I felt soaking wet and hot at the same time, which I didn't think was possible and I could feel someone gently shaking me. "Uggggnnnnnmmm," I groaned. "She's alive! Come on kid, wake up," another man exclaimed. "Nooooooooooo," I groaned again. I felt so tired, I just wanted to go back to sleep, but whoever was shaking me wouldn't stop. My eyes slowly opened, squinting at the bright lights that were shining all around me. Two men were hovering over me and they weren't who I thought they would be.

I finally escaped the factory, they kidnapped me from my college. Today is my birthday, and I had planned for it but nothing helped, only calming me down for the moment. A scream echoed out in the silent starry sky, my body freezing... They were looking for me, I just knew it. Again, I ran and jumping over the fence to the property, muscles burning, my breathing short. I look behind me, not seeing the light of the school anymore. I slow down, holding my breath again. Looking around, only trees and bugs surround me. I slowly sank to my knees, gripping the grass in between my fingers, to keep my breathing calm. Tears springing to my eyes and brushing the tears away, slowly getting back to normal. Suddenly, I felt someone behind me. I could feel its strength and power surround me, turning around to see a dark figure behind me. Glowing blue eyes stared at me, seeing it slowly walk toward me. My breathing becoming short again, a panic attack was on the verge. A hand was now on my shoulder and another on my cold cheek, making me look into his eyes, "Let me help you..." He whispered. Rubbing his thumb against my cheek, I slowly nod my head, when a pain began to form in my chest. I knew it was coming. I quickly get away, crawling a couple feet away. "Get away!" I yelled. My skin turning white and the pain erupting inside of me, feeling it try to escape, and I know if I let it. It will hurt this man. Suddenly, he was there in my view. Blue eyes staring at me, and then his lips were on my own. Gasping as I felt the pain beginning to disappear from inside me. Eyes drooping and my body relaxing against his. Soon, the kiss ended and I was empty. My eyes closing. "Don't worry, I will keep you safe..."
