Scarlex Krii, a slave turned general of an alien planet who is not loyal to the dictator she works for. He is hell bent on enslaving Earth just like he did to Duytera and Scarlex doesn't like it, but in order to protect her parents, she has to obey. 
Aly Breaux, a teenager living in Washington D.C. who thinks that all she has to worry about is a girl she hates and the fact that her father is facing a life sentence in jail. But she was all wrong.
A squadrant of four Duyterians, Scarlex, Vaessa, Koba, and Shaene land on Earth. Aly and her friends are the only ones who don't seem frightened of them, which puts them in even bigger danger. 
The Duyterians are dangerous, that's clear, but Aly and her friends can't help but become drawn to the group.

She needs to figure out if Merc knows where the machines are so she can shut them down. Merc in turn, needs to stop Laura from finding the machines to keep Earth on its path to ruination. They are more powerful than they are letting on, and have no qualms about killing the other.
