On a remote island in the Pacific ocean, off the coast of Japan, a breakthrough technology has been developed. Virtual reality, unlike anything ever seen by the public, is in it's final stages of development. Six young graduate students, the brightest minds in their respective fields of computer programming, graphic design, psychology, artificial intelligence, neuroscience, and media studies have been selected for an internship at this remote facility for a substantial salary, and a strict contract of complete discretion. What they discover is beyond their comprehension, and boggles their attempts at rationalization. This so called "virtual reality" is created by a super advanced quantum AI with capabilities beyond anything ever thought possible. It can create worlds and universes beyond our wildest dreams. But is it safe? And just how powerful is this computer that for all intents and purposes, is essentially a living, thinking entity of supreme intelligence?

In my world you have to be one of the Elite. After graduating from 8th grade it is a shitshow. You wait long intense nights filled with fear because you know one day they will come for you. They will get you mark my words on that. One day you will be ripped away from the comforts of your own home and shipped away to the cruise. None of the adults speak of what happens on the cruise. I can tell based off of the haunted look in there eyes it's nothing good. I've heard tall tales of a place full of hopes and dreams. They call this place High school. High school is just that though...a dream. In the real world all we have is the cruise. The cruise where some never return from. In my world it is survival of the fittest. Being constantly compared to ones brother can make one feel neglected. This is the case for Kai Walker. His brother was the star of the schools soccer team as well as the star of the basketball team. Everyone adored him and held him on a very high pedestal. This includes his own parents. For all of his sixteen years he has been constantly compared to his brother whether at home or at school. The most common phrase he hears is, 'Why can't you be more like your brother?' He made it through the years due to his only friend. A female childhood friend of both his and his brother, Amy Halland. But one sentence from her has sent Kai over the edge. The phrase he never thought he would hear from her. Yet it happened. Without hope he gives up, right after the sentence he decides to end his existence. He jumps from the school's roof ignoring the shouts from Amy. Yet it still didn't work. He wakes to found himself in a land unknown to him. A land full of magic, knights, and hero's. Unknowing that his current body is in hospital in a coma.
