Amber, Dragolya, Mistory, and Hexacious have traveled up to the snow capped cascade mountains where one of the last native dragon tribes are hiding from the outside world on a native Indian reservation. They arrive to find no trace of Ambers father, but it is still dangerous outside the tribes protection, for hunters are still hunting them.

When Ambers friends leave her behind for her own safety, she must learn the tribes ways until they return for her. But when she finds out someone has been following her on her walks through the woods she must figure out who she can really trust.

Things get even worse when Amber gets caught in a hunters confinement, she must fight with all her strength to escape alive and in one piece. The only problem is, her friends who never came back for her, were also caught by the hunters, but have been in the chains longer and don't seem to be acting themselves.
