From Afar

She was only sixteen years old, but she felt as though the world saw her as seven and thirty at the same time. She was treated like a child and yet was expected to conquer all things educational and responsible in a perfect, mistake-free manor.

Like most overwhelmed teens, a constantly nagging thought came to her head, one that seemed to be unthinkable: What would happen if I just disappeared? Not only was this thought forever-present in her head, but it was as if it was beginning to consume her until one day something happened.
